My son Wrigley has taught me many things and bring his mom has taught me to be selfless, caring, patient, giving, careful, bold, courageous and more. He wastes nothing. He sees treasure when others see junk. He cares about all creation and is careful to protect even the smallest ant. One night he was catching lightning bugs or fire flies with his cousin. He put one in a jar and came inside to show us. After showing us, he became distracted and began playing leaving the fire fly in the jar. It became late so we went home leaving the fire fly behind with his cousin. Once home and in bed he realized he had not let the fire fly loose. He wept sadly because he was afraid it would suffocate and die in the jar. He told me what he had forgot to do. I honestly thought, it's just a firefly. He however was so sad because had failed to set it free and knew he was going to be responsible for its death. I was so moved by his compassion and care for this small firefly that I contacted his cousin and asked her to set it free. He is full of life and seems to live life to the fullest, and I have the privilege at this time to accompany him. He faces life fearlessly and goes all in. I am blessed to be called his mom.
