This is my mother. This is the most genuine portrayal of her I've captured through a camera. Some say that if you want to see how much a mother loves you, you look at her hands. All she's ever done is worked hard to the bone for the people she loves. Her hands have spent years and countless hours, creating special events, sewing up clothes, hot glueing projects, typing re-edits, cooking meals, traveling across states, and more. This photo was taken in an empty house before we moved out. She got to rest for an hour or two on an air mattress after stressful months of packing up a home and preparing to start a new life with her four kids due to a divorce. She never asked for much. She never cared about anything more than her family. Everything she did was always to hold her family together & progress in a happy life. She would give the shirt off her back for the people she cares about. She is the hardest worker I've ever come to know with the softest heart I've ever met. She is who I base my life of, who I inspire to be like, and who I try to work just as hard to make life better for her. She doesn't like this photo because she never liked to show negative aspects and you wouldn't guess this stuff through her constant smiles. I think it shows how pure she is even after the hardships she's overcome. This is my mother.
