My Urban Decay Eye Shadow compact in Naked Heat. The colors are great for summer, and I use some of them as blush as well. Neutral colors that look good with a tan.
Green and blue homemade beaded necklace. Some of the beads are green on one side and more blue on the other if I flip them over. I always gravitate to greens and blues in my jewelry. Brings on the peace and calm.
A pathway through the trees in Thompson Park in Lincroft, NJ. There is nothing like a walk through the grassy fields and woods to restore your spirit. This photo is taken in summer, but it’s great any time of year.
I use different beauty products, but I always go back to Bare Minerals Original Foundation or Matte Foundation. This is Matte Foundation in Light Beige. It looks natural on and not like you are wearing makeup.
A frozen strawberry lemonade from a local shop, Jax Shack, in Ocean Grove NJ. Cold and refreshing on a very hot summer day. Hydrating and made with real fruit. Other option was with watermelon or classic lemonade. I plan to sample them all.
This beautiful bouquet of sunflowers was sent to me by a friend last year when my father passed away. She calls me “Sunshine” which is why she chose them. They reminded me that there is brightness even in times of sorrow.
Concentric green rings surround a darker sparkly center in this photo of the inside of a San Pellegrino mineral water bottle.
A Screech owl in its enclosure at Jenkinson’s Aquarium located on the boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. There are two owls there, both of whom are blind in one eye.
A blue and tan bird making its way across a dirt field with a prized piece of food in its beak.
A partial view of the side and roof of a horse barn against the blue sky and clouds. This photo was taken in Thompson Park in Lincroft, NJ. It is one of several farm buildings at the park that were once used for breeding Thoroughbred racehorses.
A photo of ornamental onion plants outside the horticultural center of Deep Cut Gardens in Middletown, NJ. I shot them from the ground looking up so they appear taller than they actually are, like towering trees.
A cannon outside the Twin Lights State Historic Site in Highands, NJ. The building in the background has lighthouses on either side with a museum in between outlining the history of the historic site.
A view of the water from the “almost top” of one of two lighthouses at the Twin Lights Historic Site in Atlantic Highlands, NJ. The site overlooks the Shrewsbury River, Sandy Hook, Raritan Bay, the Atlantic Ocean, and the New York City skyline.
Nothing beats an iced coffee on a warm summer day. This treat from Panera Bread gave me the boost I needed on a recent summer morning. Energy and refreshment all in one.
One of my mom’s famous cream puffs. The cream is out of this world but made with skim milk so you don’t have to feel too guilty eating it.
A scenic photo with lot of trees, grass, brush and water in the distance. Varying shades of green and blue make for a peaceful, calming scene.
A seagull perched on a fence at a local reservoir and walking path. Its wings are spread out and ready for take-off.
Bare Minerals Matte Foundation with Mini Brush. I always gravitate back to this foundation. It looks like just skin on, not like you are wearing makeup, and evens out my complexion. Some say you should not use powder as you get older, but I still do.
Butterfly necklace I made with beads from the craft’s store and a gold charm.
Four forks shaped into a shiny, multifaceted silver star set against the gray and silver background of a placemat. I can wish upon this star before I eat my breakfast!
Looking out at the wetlands and bay at Cattus Island County Park in Toms River, NJ through an opening in the dense vegetation at the edge of neighboring woods. This place has an amazing diversity of plants, wildlife, land, trees, and water.
A fishing boat comes through Manasquan Inlet. Seagulls fly above the boat in hopes of getting their own catch of the day.
Seashell woman in the sand. Photo of a seashell woman I made while enjoying the morning at a beach in Lavallette, NJ. You’re never too old to play in the sand! Don’t forget to make time for fun!
When I look at this photo, my eyes are drawn to the clouds that frame the blue sky. The corner of the fence is aligned with the vertical break in the clouds on the right, and the whitecaps in the ocean resemble another line of clouds on the sand.
Palm trees beckon in the distance like a mirage being that this is New Jersey. I always thought they were fake but just read they are planted every year. Either way they look welcoming for here is an oasis aka bar where you can quench your thirst.
Yellow leaves adorn the trees at Monmouth Battlefield State Park in Manalapan Township, NJ.
An overhead shot of my Mom’s Poinsettia plant taken in night mode, which really brings out the beautiful red color of the leaves that make this plant such a beautiful living symbol of the Christmas season.
Shadows from a pink flowering tree on the grass by a lake in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ.
A field of yellow flowers beneath a bright blue sky. Taken in Wall Township NJ.
White, fluffy clouds in a bright blue sky. Taken in one of my favorite towns, Point Pleasant Beach, NJ.
A grass path through the green trees in a local park with bright blue sky peeking in from above. Brilliant greens and blues found only in summer! The trees provided some shade on a hot summer day.
Bright yellow flowers grow along the path through the countryside of a local park.
A view from the second level from the top of one of two lighthouses at Twin Light State Historic Site in Atlantic Highlands, NJ. The site overlooks the Shrewsbury River, Sandy Hook, Raritan Bay, the New York skyline, and the Atlantic Ocean.
Black clouds above the water on an April afternoon clearly signal a monster storm is coming. The cloud behind the lamppost looks like a dinosaur head with its mouth open, and mostly everyone has heeded the warning and left the area.
A breakfast sandwich with scrambled egg, white cheddar cheese, spinach and tomato from Panera Bread. This is a sandwich I customized, but they many options on the menu for a healthy start in the morning. I also had a cup of orange ginger mint tea.
Up, up and away - a Seagull flies through the blue sky.
A seagull spreads its wings while perching on a fence surrounding a reservoir as if deciding whether or not to fly away.
Puffy, fluffy white clouds “floating” in the sky above the ocean and beach in Ocean Grove, N.J., looking toward the town of Bradley Beach.
One red leaf appears on an otherwise green tree. Nature is full of surprises. I took this photo while on a leisurely walk through the woods and fields of a beautiful park. Time out in the country grounds you and restores the soul.
Tracks form a circular pattern in the sand in this photo of the beach taken from the boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. The wide stretch of sand is the focus of the photo, highlighted by ocean waves, clouds, and a streak of sun.
